Antonio Vivaldi
The prolific master of Italian Baroque music, Vivaldi was known as "the
red priest", partly because of his shock of red hair, as well as his attachment
to the clergy. Here he plays violin for passersby while walking through
Venice's Piazza San Marco, where he created music with a unique exuberance.
